Renault development driver Oliver Rowland is in talks over a seat with Prema Racing in the Formula 2 Championship next season, according to Planet F1 sources.
Current Prema Racing driver and newly-crowned F2 champion Charles Leclerc is set to be announced as part of Sauber’s Formula 1 line-up next year and Rowland, second in the standings with two races left in Abu Dhabi, is in discussions over the vacant seat.
Rowland, who can still help current team DAMS clinch the Constructors’ title ahead of Prema Racing in the season finale, is looking to take the next step in his career as he continues on his path toward Formula 1.
It is also believed that the Super Formula series in Japan is another option for the Brit, who was handed his first Formula 1 experience back in August as part of a demonstration run alongside Nico Hulkenberg.
